Fun in the Autumn sunshine

Last week in Nursery the Selkies were doing volcano experiments following on from a discussion about volcanoes and lava.
When observing the children we can see they are continuously doing their own experimenting and problem solving in all aspects of Nursery life. They are curious when experiencing new activities and resources and learn from each other during play.

Indoor activities

We built our own stage and seating so that we could have a dancing contest and had fun showing our dances

Working together to complete the sequence

How tall are you?

Outdoors

While the builders are busy working indoors we have been getting the outdoor area ready for when we can get back in it. We worked really hard shifting stones and then sat down for snack and a rest after all the hard work.

When the weather allows we can have snack outside

1,2,3 go!!!

Art

As well as making individual artwork we like to create bigger things working as a group. We have been using leaves and other finds on our pictures.

Fun with water

More fun outside

We are having fun with all the leaves that are falling off the trees, and we often speak about Autumn

Out on a Sign Hunt - we found lots of letters and numbers

Plantings seeds - we are going to watch them grow inside

Bugs

We are still on the lookout for bugs wherever we are. We have found some REALLY big spiders on our travels.

" It's a mystery creature. Come and see"

The Secret Garden

Hide and seek - do you think anyone will find us?

Planning wall

Our planning wall is a snapshot of some of the things we have observed. This helps us plan following the children's interests.
