Rain rain come again

* A peedie reminder that we are out in all weathers (rain, wind, sun, frost and snow) so please ensure that your child comes to Nursery suitably dressed for all occasions *

It has been another busy week outdoors as you can see below.
We have been learning across all areas of the curriculum during our play.

Developing gross motor skills with the help of our friends
 Orientation

 Balancing skills
 Learning about volume
What do you do if you have no water left in the water butt?
A rain dance of course
 Technology and communication
  Estimating distances

When the rain arrived we had fun filling and transporting water to the sand.
Some people dug tracks in the sand while others took the role of carrying water.

Paper planes - we have been discussing how far and how high our planes can go.
We  are also learning about speed and direction.

* Reminder - we are closed for In-service and half term holiday from Wednesday 12th February until Monday 17th February (inclusive)*

Planning Wall

Mark making

There are opportunities for mark making all round the Nursery using different materials including sand and paint, as well as pens and pencils. Children develop small muscle control as they play.

Drawing around our feet and measuring how big they are

We all have the chance to add to the Nursery floorbooks. We can add our own mark, or adults can scribe what we want to say.

Sensory experiences - painting without brushes

 Threading - counting, shape, colours

 Matching games

Making playdough- quantity, weight , methods and routines
Then we can ...
 cook...
 bake...
 and create

 A little quiet time
Jigsaws - working together to complete tasks
