Out and about

*Reminder- We close today Friday 11th October. Nursery opens again on Wednesday 30th October*

If your child attends on a Thursday they can dress up for Halloween on the 31st if they would like to. We hope you don't scare us too much!!

On the buses
A small group of children went for a very exciting trip this week. They walked down to the Town Hall before catching the bus back to Nursery. They had to check timetables, wait for the bus, and everyone had to give the driver money before they could get their tickets. The bus went around the town before arriving at KGS, where the children got off.

The Secret Garden
On our visit to the Secret Garden last week we spoke to the children about the fire-pit and what we had to do to stay safe if we light it. We went up on Tuesday to light the fire. We had a safety talk first, and Miss Williams made a line of flour around the area that we couldn't cross to help us keep a safe distance from the fire. After the fire had been lit we went to explore and lay in the garden.

Trip to the Blue Door
Some of our toys at Nursery were broken - a teapot that leaks is no use at all - and the children spoke about where we could get new things for Nursery. Charity shops were mentioned so we planned a trip to the Blue door. Miss Easton gave us a shopping list, and we were lucky enough to find everything. We even saw some of our grannies working in the shops.

We went to Shearers to find more vegetables for the Nursery. We spoke about what the vegetables are called.

Trip to Rendalls
Another group went to Rendalls Bakery shop to look for some different foods to try at snack time. The group tried the food when they were back at Nursery

Autumn vegetables

We have had seasonal vegetables in Nursery this week. The children have had the chance to investigate them, drawing, smelling and cutting.

Busy making soup - learning how to use sharp knives safely
We had pictures of trees as inspiration in the Art Area.

We had a parent who is a music teacher come in to visit, teaching us some new songs. Thank you very much for coming in.

Thankyou
We would like to thank everyone who has donated towards the Shoe box and Foodbank appeals. As you can see the children enjoyed helping deliver the items.

We would also like to thank one of our parents who brought in bread for snack on our last day. It tasted delicious.
