Birthday Wishes

There has been a few more birthdays recently. We would like to wish you and the boys and girls who have birthdays coming up in the holidays a big happy birthday from all the nursery staff xx


 


Thank you

We have made it to the end of the school year, just! 
We have missed seeing all the children and their families for the final term. But we have been able to keep up with what you have been doing through photos, phone calls and emails. We would like to thank you all for sharing your news and keeping in contact with us during these strange times. 2019-20 is certainly a year we won't forget.

We are looking forward to seeing our older children start P1, and we can't wait to see our returning children in our new temporary Nursery setting. 
We are excited to welcome our new families to Papdale Nursery.

Enjoy the Summer holidays and keep on doing the fantastic job you have all been doing looking after your boys and girls.

We have been really lucky to have lots of bonnie weather since Nursery closed. You have certainly been making the most of it and have been spending lots of time outside. Just like the indoors photos we can see so much learning going on. It might be 'just playing' to the children but they are learning so much from siblings and parents. Rain, Rain, come back another day

There's no such thing as bad weather - only the wrong clothes. But here at Papdale we are prepared for all weathers! We had lots of fun going on puddle hunts after the rain The Secret Garden We are learning to keep safe in the garden - we talk about fire safety, what plants are safe to touch, and we are risk assessing our play as we climb. And we are always on the lookout for bugs and "mystery creatures".  Staying safe near the fire " You can't go past the line or you will get burnt" Snack in the Secret Garden Out and about Before we go on walks we talk about the rules which keep us safe. We know grown ups help us stay safe We have been noticing signs of Autumn - leaves changing colour and falling from the trees, and berries on the trees  We have been planting more of our new planters Making a wormery- following the children's interest in bugs Obstacle courses Hide and seek We were excited to talk to the workmen to see what they were doing Worm spotting ...

Out and about

      *Reminder- We close today Friday 11th October. Nursery opens again on Wednesday 30th October*   If your child attends on a Thursday they can dress up for Halloween on the 31st if they would like to. We hope you don't scare us too much!!   On the buses A small group of children went for a very exciting trip this week. They walked down to the Town Hall before catching the bus back to Nursery. They had to check timetables, wait for the bus, and everyone had to give the driver money before they could get their tickets. The bus went around the town before arriving at KGS, where the children got off.       The Secret Garden On our visit to the Secret Garden last week we spoke to the children about the fire-pit and what we had to do to stay safe if we light it.
