Outdoor Play

We have seen more children choosing to go outside this week. As you can see children have a wide variety of opportunities in our outdoor area which they enjoy with friends.

 Mark making

 Promoting curiosity - sensory experiences

Health and well-being - caring for others

Developing gross motor skills and self risk

 Hand eye co-ordination

 Digging for treasure

Loos parts - where can we go today?
While outside we can take part in physical activities such as obstacle courses

Inside Play

Block play- we have seen lots of shared ideas and teamwork in our block areas. We are interested in comparing the height of our creations to our own heights.

" You hold this bit. We're doing it together"

We need to be careful where we position the blocks.
" Put the big ones on the bottom"
" I need a square next to that square"

 Turn taking at it's best
 " I'm a fixer"

If we stand on blocks we can build even higher

 I wonder who's the tallest?

Number tiles at group-time. Can you find  number ...?
Then we need to arrange them in sequence.
A new game - roll the dice for your partner to see how far you can go along the path. Counting, and turn taking

Woodwork Area

We have been developing a woodwork area. We are starting to visit in small groups. We have to learn about safety before we can use any of the tools. After this we can try using hammers and nails.

Snack-time
We have had group snack again this week to show our new friends the snack routine. We go as a key-group and sit together. It's a chance to chat, and we can help show each other how to get snack.

Play dough Creations

 Telling stories
Playing games - turn-taking and sharing

The Peedie Chicks sowed strawberry seeds. We will hopefully have strawberries for snack in a little while. We are learning how we look after living things.
