Visitors
This week were lucky enough to have several visitors in the Nursery.
Kerri-Anne came in with clay to help us make Christmas decorations. She took them away to fire in the kiln so we are excited to see them when they are finished. We had to decorate them with special paint.

Miss Wishart, one of our students has a puppy. She talked to the Peedie Chicks, finding out what they knew about looking after dogs, before taking her puppy in to see the children. The talk inspired play in the block area, where children built a fabulous creation for animals.

On our way down to music we sometimes hear the older children having their music lessons. We arranged for a small group to come along and play for a few children. They spoke about their fiddles, played some tunes and even let us try their instruments.

On Friday one of our mum's came in to bake with some of the children. The treats looked very yummy.

This week in Nursery we have been ......

Experimenting

Inventing potions, making soup, mixing coloured water

 "Look it's rainbow water"

Trying new ways to melt or break the ice
"We could cut it"
" You have to hammer the edge cos it's easier to break"

One of the children took the toy hair dryer from the house " because it's hot" so we tried using a real hair dryer to find out if it really works. Before we did we spoke about how we can't let electricity touch water, so we decided only a grown up could hold the dryer. The children were very excited when they found out it does work.

" We can put it on the heater, but it might melt on the heater"
" We could put it back in the tray"

Mark making at art.
Any form of mark making helps to develop fine motor control which children need when they start writing
