Exploring Our Environment

Planning Wall

We have been introducing children to our music area. The children have been trying different instruments and finding out what sounds and rhythms we can make.

We have space in our music room to encourage children to take part in larger group activities. You can see the 'sleeping bunnies' below.

We can also use computers to help us in Nursery. This week we have been practicing yoga.

We have been on slightly longer walks this week and have been talking about what we can see in the environment around us.

We went to the hall and were playing games where we had to listen carefully to instructions.

Since the start of term as part of getting to know the children we have been doing activities where we thinking about what we look like. At art we have been painting ourselves. We had mirrors so that the children could look in them before recreating what they saw.

Snack Time
This week the Peedie Chicks made pancakes for snack. They were learning about quantity and weight, and keeping safe in the kitchen.

Snack can be a time to learn about maths including discussions about how many, size and shape. What's the best shape for toast, square or triangle?
