Activities at Home



Thank you for sending us your photos this week. We can see you have been really busy at home and  having lots of fun.

Papdale seeds 

There has been big excitement this week as some of your seeds have started growing. You must have been doing a good job looking after them. 




Living things

Remember before Nursery closed we found frog spawn in the pond up at KGS? Some of you had frog spawn at home too. Since it's been a long time now, it means that some of the tadpoles from the spawn have grown and changed, and some of you now have froglets and peedie frogs.




Who wouldn't want to stay in such a fancy hotel? I wonder what bugs will live in this bug hotel?

Fun Outdoors

We have been really lucky to have lots of bonnie weather since Nursery closed. You have certainly been making the most of it and have been spending lots of time outside. Just like the indoors photos we can see so much learning going on. It might be 'just playing' to the children but they are learning so much from siblings and parents. Rain, Rain, come back another day

There's no such thing as bad weather - only the wrong clothes. But here at Papdale we are prepared for all weathers! We had lots of fun going on puddle hunts after the rain The Secret Garden We are learning to keep safe in the garden - we talk about fire safety, what plants are safe to touch, and we are risk assessing our play as we climb. And we are always on the lookout for bugs and "mystery creatures".  Staying safe near the fire " You can't go past the line or you will get burnt" Snack in the Secret Garden Out and about Before we go on walks we talk about the rules which keep us safe. We know grown ups help us stay safe We have been noticing signs of Autumn - leaves changing colour and falling from the trees, and berries on the trees  We have been planting more of our new planters Making a wormery- following the children's interest in bugs Obstacle courses Hide and seek We were excited to talk to the workmen to see what they were doing Worm spotting ...

Out and about

      *Reminder- We close today Friday 11th October. Nursery opens again on Wednesday 30th October*   If your child attends on a Thursday they can dress up for Halloween on the 31st if they would like to. We hope you don't scare us too much!!   On the buses A small group of children went for a very exciting trip this week. They walked down to the Town Hall before catching the bus back to Nursery. They had to check timetables, wait for the bus, and everyone had to give the driver money before they could get their tickets. The bus went around the town before arriving at KGS, where the children got off.       The Secret Garden On our visit to the Secret Garden last week we spoke to the children about the fire-pit and what we had to do to stay safe if we light it.
